Accessibility Statement by Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin

Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin strives to make its website accessible. The Statement on Digital Accessibility is required by the Berlin Accessible Information and Communication Technology Act (BIKTG Bln). The technical requirements for accessibility can be found in the current legislation for accessible information technology (BITV).

What is already accessible?

  • We do not use flashing elements.
  • Moving image elements can be stopped with a button.
  • We do not use frames.
  • We strive for a clean page structure for the content.
  • Our websites are largely optimised for mobile devices.

Status of compliance with requirements

The websites are not yet fully compatible with the stated policies . The incompatibilities are listed below.
The following contents are not accessible:

  • PDF documents have not yet been converted to an accessible format.
  • There are currently no subtitles or transcriptions available for embedded videos.
  • Currently, graphics or images contained in the pages have not been completely supplemented by text descriptions.
  • The campuses’ interactive 3D maps are not accessible and are not fully optimised for small screens.
